Kaymed Mattress FAQ

What sets Kaymed apart from the other Tempur-Pedic and SleepNumber beds?
With the help of the UK's leading sleep researcher, Kaymed developed a patented Sleep Scan analysis to best fit the individual sleeper(s) to the best sleep therapy modality based upon scientific data and a worldwide database. Unlike SleepNumber and Tempur-Pedic which always recommend only their limited modality of mattress, Kaymed recommends the best modality based upon science.
What types of mattress does Kaymed offer?
Kaymed has developed four unique mattress modalities each with their unique benefits: NASA developed memory foam, Organic Talalay Latex, cool Gel, and Air support. Each modality has unique advantages over the leading competitors simular models.
What makes Kaymed's Memory Foam mattresses better than Tempur-Pedic?
As a Florida based Tempur-Pedic retail partner since 2001, we have experienced countless customers who sleep hot in their Tempur-Pedic mattress. Although Tempur foam does not technically make you hot (we are already 98.6 degrees) as you sleep into a Tempur-Pedic mattress, the Tempur foam may trap your body's heat and create a hot environment for many sleepers, especially in warm humid areas like Florida. Kaymed has a patented AirLayer which is scientifically proven to transfer heat away from your body 71% better than Tempur-Pedic.
What makes Kaymed's Air Support mattresses better than SleepNumber?
Kaymed's air mattress has several distinct advantages over SleepNumber. Firstly, each side of the mattress has 3 zones, SleepNumber has only one zone per side. With Kaymed each sleeper may adjust the lumbar zone indepently of the head and leg zone. Secondly, Kaymed has 60 sleep settings, SleepNumber only has 20. Kaymed's air mattress provides the most customized and ultra luxurious air supported sleep surface available, allowing each sleeper to customize their own side of the mattress, eliminating compromising ones individual comfort.
What makes Kaymed's Gel mattresses better than Tempur-Pedic?
Kaymed's Gel mattress addresses another ongoing issue found with Tempur-Pedic brand mattresses; lack of edge support and the inability to change sleep position or navigate across the mattress during the night. Kaymed's Gel mattress is uniquely designed in harmony with memory material to provide low pressure yet firm support during the night while maximizing edge support and allowing ease of movement while in the bed.
What makes Kaymed's Organic Latex mattresses better than Tempur-Pedic?
Kaymed's Latex models utilize organic latex derived from a Rubber Tree. Kaymed's mattresses are eco friendly and derived from a renewable resource. Kaymed's Latex mattresses provide instant comfort as they instantly respond to you when you lay down. Tempur-Pedic mattresses require time to adjust to your body's weight and temperature. (Temperature sensitivity is evenĘin their name TEMPUR-Pedic).
What type of mattress is best?
Only one fact is certain - for the highest quality sleep, every sleeper needs to maximize body support while minimizing interface pressure against your body from the mattress. How to best achieve that goal is totally dependent upon the individual sleeper(s) and their unique body types and requirements. The best kind of a pressure relieving mattress will vary among individuals just as the best kind of eyewear will vary depending upon the specific individual's specific needs.
What type of mattress is worst?
Any mattress that creates excessive interface pressure against our body will increase tossing and turning at night and lessen the quality of your sleep. Since our bodies perform best with high quality sleep, and pressure points at night lessen high quality sleep, any mattress with steel coils or steel springs which press back against your body while you sleep will create pressure points and lead to body aches and pains, numbness, and ultimately sleep fragmentation and sleeplessness.
Who is Kaymed?
Founded in 1889, by Dr. Woolfson, Kaymed is Europe's leading bedding manufacturer now with manufacturing facilities in the United States. Kaymed is committed to developing the World's best bed based upon scientific data and analysis with one goal in mind - to manufacture the world's best bed to provide the best quality of sleep and comfort to every customer.
Does Relax In Comfort offer an in-home tryout on the Kaymed mattresses?

Comfortaire Mattress FAQ

Who is Comfortaire?
Comfortaire represents the founding fathers of the entire modern air bed industry. The original air bed company, Comfortaire, was founded in 1981 as a new division of Park Place Corporation an over 100 year old company based in Greenville, SC.
Why can't I find your store's models on the Comfortaire factory web site?
As a retail partner of Comfortaire since 1982, we have a long-term strategic relationship with the factory. Our synergistic relationship allows us to co-create models unique to Relax In Comfort to accommodate our exact requirements and specifications. We leverage our 40-year specialty back care & sleep heritage with the factory's technical team to provide the very best and most advanced sleep surfaces possible.
Why isn't Comfortaire advertised on TV?
According to a recent SEC filing by Sleep Number, over 40% of total revenue was spent on marketing costs during a recent accounting period. This high marketing cost consumes over $40 for every $100 purchased by their customers. Since Comfortaire relies on independently owned & operated local merchants to demonstrate the Comfortaire products and these merchants are already operating their businesses, no additional advertising costs are incurred by the factory allowing additional dollars to be invested in R&D and superior quality and raw materials luxurious components.
Why don't you sell all the models found on the factory web site in your stores?
We are very selective in only representing the "best in class" for each price point and comfort level from each manufacturer we partner with. As a 2nd generation family owned & operated business with over 40 years of history, we carefully evaluate and select only the best options for our customers. Since we pre-select the models for you, you can rest assured that as you select your mattress from our "all star team" you can make your personal buying decision based upon your personal comfort preference and budget without worries about making a bad decision.
Do you offer an in-home tryout option?
Absolutely, we want your decision to invest in a new mattress to be an easy one. For all Queen and King size mattresses we offer a 30-day in home tryout. If you are dissatisfied for any reason simply return the mattress for a full refund less a $299.00 return fee.
Why is the Comfortaire GS1100 better than Sleep Number 9000?
Perhaps the single biggest reason is that with the GS1100 model Comfortaire has patented the placement of the air chamber in the top portion of the mattress, where it can best posturize to your body. Sleep Number places their air chamber at the very bottom of the mattress where is can least effectively mold and contour to your body due to the large amount of foams layered on top of the air chamber. See the comparison guide for the many additional advantages of Comfortaire over Sleep Number.
What makes the Comfortaire GS1100 mattress padding better than Sleep Number 9000 padding?
Comfortaire utilizes New Zealand Joma wool in the mattress padding - wool is a natural ingredient and is breathable and hygroscopic. Wool helps to keep the sleeper cooler in the summer, and warmer in the winter. Sleep Number uses all synthetic materials.
Isn't wool hot and itchy?
The wool padding is embedded under the mattress cover and provides a natural and breathable sleeping environment. Wool fiber is a molecular coilspring making the fiber remarkably elastic. As a hygroscopic fiber wool takes up moisture in vapor form. Tiny pores in the epicuticle make the fiber semi-permeable allowing vapor to pass through to the heart of the fiber. Wool can easily absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling damp or clammy. This ability makes wool a natural "temperature regulator" because it can protect in both warm and cold conditions.
Why is the Comfortaire GS1100 warranty better than Sleep Number?
While both have 20 year limited warranty coverage, Comfortaire provides a full 10-year non pro-rata coverage on parts whereas Sleep Number only has the first 2 years non pro-rata coverage.
Why did Comfortaire decide to make a Tempur-Pedic style bed?
The modular design necessitated to construct an air support mattress is a superior design for a memory foam bed as well. Tempur-Pedic has over 8 different feeling mattresses and beyond the short in home tryout period, you are committed to that mattress feel for the life of the mattress. Comfortaire's RIC1100 model is customizable for each sleep partner with three advanced therapy options when you order yours and the comfort component is changeable anytime over the life of the mattress.
What makes the Comfortaire RIC1100 mattress coverĘbetter than Tempur-Pedic?
The Comfortaire RIC1100 uses an all-natural Bamboo fabric - a naturally renewable resource, with antibacterial properties inherent in the Bamboo Kun. The same natural substance that protects bamboo in nature functions in the spun bamboo fibers. In quantitative testing 100% of the bamboo fabric exhibited a 99.8% antibacterial kill rate making Bamboo fabric ideal for a healthier sleeping environment. Tempur-Pedic mattresses all have synthetic covers, even the GrandBed mattress only priced at $6,799.00 boasting a "silk blended cover" is 99% polyester and rayon and only 1% silk!
What makes the Comfortaire RIC1100 mattress padding better than Tempur-Pedic mattresses?
Comfortaire utilizes New Zealand Joma wool in the mattress padding - wool is a natural ingredient and is breathable and hygroscopic. Wool helps to keep the sleeper cooler in the summer, and warmer in the winter. Tempur-Pedic models do not have any comfort padding materials contributing to the heat retention issue experienced by many of our customers who purchased Tempur-Pedic mattresses and the difficulty moving around on the mattresses surface.
Exactly what comfort options are available on the RIC1100 model?
The top four inch comfort layer may be customized to your choice of: Organic Talalay Latex, NASA developed memory material or Embrace Latex which is manufactured in the Netherlands, comprised of Organic Latex infused with memory material.
Which comfort option on the RIC1100 is most popular and why?
The Embrace latex is preferred by over 80% of our customers. The Embrace option is 400% cooler than memory material alone and since it is infused with memory material it provides the perfect balance of buoyant yet pressure-relieving comfort.
Why about the CFC500 model?
This model is ideal for anyone preferring the Embrace material and looking for a "best buy" value priced, luxury model. The CFC500 utilizes a DuPont CoolMax cover, which helps wick away moisture keeping you cooler during the night. Compares to Tempur-Pedic ClassicBed in price but exceeds the RhapsodyBed in feel and performance.

Power Bases FAQ

Why should we invest in a power bed?
When it comes to the quality of your sleep, position is everything! We recommend the "Zero Gravity" position for sleeping. This pressure-free position has been used by medical professionals for decades to relax the spine and improve breathing and circulation. With the touch of a button you can elevate your head and feet, providing the comfort and support you need to achieve a deeper and more restful night's sleep.
Can I purchase a mattress now and upgrade to a power base later?
Yes. All of our mattresses are 100% compatible with our power bases. You can start of with any of our mattress models now and purchase the power bases later to upgrade your flat system into a power system. The new power bases would simply replace the flat foundations.
Why is the quality of my sleep important?
Our increasingly hectic lifestyle requires a higher quality sleep to cope with stress and maintain optimal health. Unfortunately, in recent years, the trend has been in the opposite direction; more things to do less quality sleep! Poor quality sleep compounds daily stress which in turn makes a good night's rest even more difficult to achieve.
Aren't these beds for older folks?
Not any more! Over 70 million Americans suffer from poor sleep, consisting mostly of today's younger Baby Boomer generation! Back in the 1970's power beds were more like a hospital bed with a rather uncomfortable innerspring mattress and were not available in a King size! Today's power beds are ultra luxurious, and with the advent of the Split Top King mattress, appeal to those seeking a better night's sleep regardless of age!
Is there really a big difference in power bases?
Yes. Leggett & Platt manufactures 15 models of power bases with factory warranties ranging from five to twenty years. The Maxwell InComfort models are the heavy duty high-line bases, whereas the Profile models are light duty entry level models. The power base is the "engine" which articulates the bed into position. Also, some power bases retract which makes it incompatible with any Split Top mattress. We feature what we believe are the best value options within the entire Leggett & Platt line.
Can I get a power base without massage?
Yes. However, since the massage function is a small fraction of the total cost of the power base most models include massage as a standard feature. Many people consider the massage feature like the horn on their car, although you may rarely use it, it's nice to have when you need it! Whenever you have muscular aches and pains, the massage feature will be a welcomed addition to your comfort portfolio. Only our new Profile Basis model is currently sold without massage.
What is multi-directional massage
Originally invented by Niagara Therapy Products in 1949, Multi-Directional Massage (MDM) is a three dimensional motion which is designed to help increase blood circulation, relieve tired muscles and reduce everyday tension and fatigue; it encourages restful sleep though relaxation and is equipped with variable intensity control.

Does Florida offer a sales tax exemption?
Yes. If prescribed by a physician for an ailment, your purchase is exempt from Florida state sales tax. In addition, it may qualify as a medical deduction on your Federal tax return. Please consult your tax advisor for details and your specific circumstances.
Will a power bed fit inside my existing headboard & footboard?
Yes, our power bases will fit inside any like size bed set. Unlike traditional flat mattress, our power bed will rest directly on the floor, not on top of your bed slats. Occasionally, optional factory height extenders may be required to raise the height of the power base.
Do I need special sheets?

Panasonic Massage Lounger FAQ

What is a Shiatsu massage?
Used by professional massage therapists around the world, Shiatsu is a Japanese physical therapy technique, which literally translates as "finger pressure". The technique primarily involves the application of gentle pressure using the thumbs to stimulate your acupoints. You body has over 300 acupoint places where energy flows through. These acupoints need to be "opened" in order for energy to flow through and for you to feel healthy. Firm pressure on these acupoints will relax and open them. The Panasonic massage chair can stimulate over 110 of these acupoints with effective deep tissue massage. Panasonic's massage loungers replicate the Shiatsu massage technique, to massage over 27-30" along your back, neck, and shoulders for a relaxing massage. By using just two of the four massage heads, our massage loungers give a Shiatsu deep tissue style massage.
What is a Swedish Massage?
Swedish massage refers to a collection of techniques designed primarily to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones, and gently rubbing in the same direction as the flow of the blood returning to the heart. We use all four massage heads to replicate a palm style massage. Palm or forearm massages, with long strokes, are generally used for Swedish style massages. A Swedish massage is good for loosening up muscles and stimulating blood flow, but is not meant to stimulate individual acupoints the way a Shiatsu massage can.
What types of massage can the massage lounger give?
The massage chair delivers 3 basic massage types:
  • Kneading: The Kneading technique is an upward and downward movement, designed to target the pressure points on your back and alleviate pressure build-up. Kneading massages help to maximize the circulation of blood to and from the heart.
  • Rolling: The Rolling technique runs along your spine in a curve. Rolling massages stretch the spine to temporarily relieve pressure on the discs in your back. Not all massage loungers have this feature.
  • Tapping: The Tapping technique consists of rapid movements (up to 500 per minute) delivered to your back. Tapping helps dissipate stiffness while easing tension on your muscles. Not all massage loungers have this feature.
What makes the Real ProTM Massage Chair Unique?
In addition to over 150 square inches of your back and neck being massaged, the Real ProTM features a 22-airbag system for massaging your feet, legs, and seat. Compared to other chairs that use some kind of "stiff" mechanism to massage your feet and legs, an airbag system contours to your leg, fitting your individual size and shape. You are able to adjust the air pressure, thus enabling the type of foot/leg massage you want.

The Real ProTM also incorporates Body Scan Technology to determine the curvature of your spine, your height, and the location of your shoulder blades, so that the massage is automatically customized to fit tightly on your back. It has four pre-programs, allowing you to create one customized self program. You can also save up to 15 programs and settings in the massage lounger's memory.
Does the massage lounger have pre-programmed or manual massages?
Panasonic massage loungers let you to choose between pre-programmed massages and manual massages, depending on your needs.
  • Pre-Programmed Massages: Our massage loungers come with 2-4 pre-programmed massages, which focus on the upper back, lower back, or the entire back. The massages vary in intensity (which can also be controlled manually), and combine the kneading, tapping and rolling massage types. Each pre-programmed massage lasts approximately 14 minutes.
  • Manual Massages: You can use the manual section of the massage lounger remote to tailor a massage to your body's needs. Massage just one area of your back, move the rollers up and down, select Rolling or Rolling/Tapping massages over select areas of your back, or adjust the width of the massage heads to hit various points of tension around your spine.
The Regional button in the manual mode allows you to massage 4" of an area on your back or neck.
Can I adjust the intensity of the massage?
Yes. There are three ways to adjust the intensity of a massage:
  1. Intensity adjustment button: This button electronically moves the heads back up to 2" from their most intense point (available on most massage lounger models).
  2. Back Pad: Adjust massage intensity by keeping the back pad in the massage lounger to dampen the effect of the rollers.
  3. Reclining angles: The less the chair is reclined, the less body weight is put on the rollers, which reduces intensity.
Are there any health benefits of massage?
Yes. Massage can help increase circulation, reduce tension, release endorphins, and relax your muscles. You may also experience warming in the areas that are being massaged, which is due to greater circulation.
Can anyone use massage loungers?
Children under 16 should not use massage loungers, because their spines are still form-ing. Pregnant women should not use massage loungers. Anyone who has had back problems or back surgery should check with their physician before using a massage lounger.

The massage lounger is only specified to hold up to 264 pounds. Applying any weight greater than this may strain the massage heads and mechanism, which could cause damage to the massage lounger. Damage from excessive weight is not covered by the product warranty.
What is the warranty on Panasonic massage loungers?
The massage lounger warranty covers the product as follows:
  • Repair Coverage: Parts and Labor: 1 year. Electronic parts: 3 years.
  • Providing Service: During the first year following purchase: Panasonic will either fix the massage lounger in your home, or will pay for it to be removed from your home for servicing.
Following one year after purchase: You should take the massage lounger to a local servicer or have it shipped to the nearest servicer.
There is a 1,000-hour cap on the massage chair warranty. 1000 hours is equivalent to one 15-minute massage a day for 11 years.
Can I get an Extended Warranty?
Yes. For $199 you can buy a one-year extension (2 years labor, 4 years electronic parts), and for $299 you can buy a two-year extension. This extended service program is available directly from Panasonic. For more information, please call us at 1-800-637-2007. This warranty is available in the first 30 days from purchase of your new massage chair.
How long does the massage lounger last?
The lounger should last for up to 1,000 hours, which is equivalent to one programmed massage per day for over 11 years.

After 1,000 hours the chair may need greasing and some servicing adjustments. Heavy use of the lounger, or placing a lot of weight on the lounger on a consistent basis, may result in the need to have the lounger serviced earlier.
Can I have the massage lounger delivered to my home?
Yes. Panasonic offers a "White Glove" delivery service for our dealers, which includes delivery, ensuring everything is functioning properly, and the removal of any packaging that came with the massage lounger. This service costs $200. A delivery appointment is generally made within 7 business days of the dealer placing the order with Panasonic.

Premier Massage Lounger FAQ

What material is the chair covered with?
Premier chairs are covered with a tough, resilient and long lasting pvc compound in a faux leather finish. It is virtually maintenance free and will withstand the rigors of a frequently used massage chair much better than leather. All Premier chairs come with a back cover in the same upholstery material. Most top of the line chairs are equipped with a four roller massage system that provides a very deep shiatsu style of massage and will also include an advanced heating element. Normal leather cannot withstand the prolonged use of the rollers and heating element and will rapidly dry out and crack. The synthetic leather also has elasticity that will allow it to stretch with the deep massage motion of the rollers and return to its original shape. Premier's covering has been proven to be more durable, allowing it to maintain its look longer than normal leather, and is virtually maintenance free. This material does not need to be conditioned, treated or moisturized and can be cleaned with almost any product.
How does the warranty work?
Premier chairs are covered by the best warranty in the industry. Depending on the chair model, parts and labor are covered for either 1 or 5 years, and shipping for 1 year. Most internet buyers find that if there is a problem with their chair, a few minutes on the phone with a Premier Tech Support agent will diagnose the problem and a replacement part (along with step-by-step instructions) is sent out same day. On receipt of the part, the Tech Support Agent will walk you through the re-pair or replacement process. Tech support documents are also available online at Premier Health Products. In the rare event that a chair requires return to the Premier Health Products facility, shipping is covered for the first year of ownership a long as the owner has retained the packing materials.
How much does the chair weigh?
The PHP 2025 weighs 152 lbs. assembled and the PHP 2026 weighs 165 lbs. The chairs are easily movable once assembled as both chairs have caster wheels on the rear legs.
Can you hide the calf chambers?
No. Due to the unique, patented design that provides true Shiatsu massage on the legs and feet, the chambers are in a fixed position. Some chairs that claim the leg chambers can be hidden do not actually provide true mechanical Shiatsu massage of the calves and feet.
Can the chair be used as a regular recliner?
Yes, the PHP 2025, PHP 2026 and PHP 2027 operate like a traditional recliner, meaning the back and the leg massage can be operated independent of one another.
How hard is the assembly of the chair?
Assembly for any of the PHP models is quite easy. Complete setup instructions are included with the chair and are also available on line at Premier Health Products . No tools are required. Due to the weight of the chair, it is recommended that 2 able-bodied persons are available.
I have heard Japanese imported chairs are better, is that true?
No. It is not the location where massage chairs are assembled that is important, it is the parts and components that the chair is made of that determines the quality of your chair. Premier chairs are designed and manufactured in Taiwan from the best parts and components specified by Premier worldwide.
